L. David Marquet was recognized as its most outstanding and exceptional submarine commander in Squadron Seven. He currently teaches at the Columbia University School of Professional Studies. During his time as a commander of Santa Fe, he successfully managed to subvert the US Navy’s traditional leader-follower approach, providing the crew with far greater responsibilities and a much higher level of decision-making authority. Under his lead, Santa Fe’s performance improved dramatically winning numerous decorated awards. After leaving the Navy, Marquet subsequently joined Next Jump and has offered various consulting services to prominent multinational corporations such as Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase.
